Milanovich released a letter to parents this morning confirming that water entered two equipment rooms on the building's lower level on Feb. 28. She said the water entered from exterior electrical boxes that bring electrical cables into those rooms.

Milanovich said water leaked through the roof onto the upper floor of the building. Water entered around heating and air conditioning equipment on the roof, according to the letter.

"However, none of these problems are of major concern," she said. "We must understand that with a structure of this size and complexity there are many items that need adjustment, and although we have occupied the new facility, it is still a site under construction."

The district opened the new to students on Feb. 1.

Residents have circulated a photo of brown water pooled on the floor of what is purported to be the high school facility. District spokeswoman Megan Gallagher said that because the photo does not belong to the district, she cannot confirm or deny its authenticity.
