Jenna graduated from Kent State University in 2010 with a bachelors degree in Journalism and Mass Communications.  During her time at Kent State, she worked as a reporter at Kent State Student Media, where she covered everything from city news to the university's administration. She also served as editor of the university's newspaper, The Kent Stater, during the summer semester and wrote for Fusion, an award-winning student publication.

While in college, Jenna interned at the Huffington Post's Washington D.C. bureau. There, she had the opportunity to write for the popular blogging site's Politics section and cover lobbying activities in the nation's capitol.

As a student, she also worked for the Center for Innovation in College Media, the Springfield News-Sun, and the New Castle News.

Jenna decided she wanted to be a journalist as a 9-year-old growing up in Mercer County, Pa., and she's thrilled to now be reporting on Moon and the Pittsburgh region.  She's passionate about Patch's cross-section of community journalism and new media.

Your Beliefs

At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.

Politics: I'm registered as a Democrat but I've never voted for a straight-party ticket. I consider myself moderate.

Religion: Catholic.

Hot button issues: I think economic development is a huge issue to the Greater Pittsburgh region. I also think education and schools are extremely important to the Moon community.
