Moon School District Garners Science Grant

The grant will be used to purchase science equipment for middle schoolers.

The Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh has awarded the  a $3,000 grant.

The funding will be used to purchase science equipment for the district's fifth-graders, who in the fall will from the district's elementary to middle school building. 

The group also awarded the middle school a $600 grant to purchase supplies.

According to a statement from the district: 

"Although we currently use many labs in fifth grade, next year we will actually have real classrooms set up for labs," said fifth-grade teacher Elaine Mitchell. "Therefore we have implemented more lab sessions into our curriculum."
