Montour to Construct Second Accessway to High School

The district must construct a second driveway to the high school to comply with fire code regulations.

The Montour School District will construct a second driveway connecting Clever Road with the district's high school campus.

Montour school board members on Thursday authorized Architectural Innovations LLC to design the thoroughfare and prepare bid specifications for the project, the Post-Gazette reports.

With the construction of the driveway, the district will comply with Robinson Township fire code regulations.

The township withheld a permenant occupancy permit for the district's newly constructed, $52 million high school, because the campus lacked a second accessway for emergency vehicles, township officials said.

The building opened under a temporary occupancy permit in 2011. The township extended the temporary permit for 180 days in August 2012.

I'm having trouble deciphering/accessing complete posts above. I have not been able to follow theRead More Boards meetings since relocating a year ago to TN. The fact that it took them til 3 am to ok WalMart's plans for the space, makes me think it was contentious, as it should have been. Many of us with experience of WalMart and the existing problems with traffic in the area remain appalled to hear WalMart's moving ahead.
