Former NBA Star to Speak on Substance Abuse at Montour

Montour students and Robinson-era residents are invited to the motivational presentation, which will be hosted at the new Montour Athletic Center.

Former NBA player Chris Herren will address Montour students and community members in a motivational speech on the dangers of substance abuse.

Herren, who formerly appeared on the roster for the Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics, will discuss his history of drug addiction and the impact it had on his career, according to an announcement from district administrators.

Herren, a convicted felon on drug charges, was released from the Celtics in 2004 after being arrested for heroin possession.
