School District, Teachers Union Meet Again for Arbitration

Hearing will begin at 10 a.m. at the Moon Area School District

The Moon Area School District and Moon Area Education Association met again Tuesday for a second arbitration hearing.

Officials from both parties met in an attempt to work out a year-long contractual dispute that resulted in a 13-day teacher's strike in November. The meeting was only the second time both sides have met for negotiations since the strike.

School solicitor Jack Cambest said the meeting would take place at 10 a.m.  at the school district. Both Cambest and union spokesperson Butch Santicola said they anticipate a recommendation from the arbitrator to be released in the coming weeks.  The arbiter's recommendation, however, is not final.
