Moon Township Engineer Malcolm Petroccia said crews will soon begin to repair a growing roads.

Petroccia said NewPointe Realty, the Moon-based developer of the Autumn Woods housing development, has agreed to begin work on the by Aug. 1.

"I've really been pushing for them to begin the work [by] that date," Petroccia told the Wednesday night at its monthly meeting.

Water from an improperly installed storm water basin at the foot of the 34-house development has been pushing sediment and trees downward toward Flaugherty Run and Becks Run roads since the development was built in 2007, causing concern among township officials.

NewPointe Realty owns the property where the landslide is occurring. Work to repair the hillside was originally slated to begin this spring, but the developer delayed it, according to township officials.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environment Protection has sent a consent order to the developer, mandating that work soon begin on the project.

The board also heard a brief presentation from the developers of the Sonoma Ridge housing development off Beaver Grade Road. Work will soon begin on the fifth and final phase of the development.
