Petitions for May Municipal Primaries Available Today

Local primary will be held on May 17.

Those looking to run for local office can pick up petitions today for the May 17 primary. 

Six positions on the Board of Directors will be up for election this year, including five four-year-term positions and one two-year-term position. 

Petitions will be available through the Allegheny County Elections Division. Candidates can begin circulating the petitions on Feb. 15 and must submit them on March 8.

Nominating petitions can be obtained by visiting the the county office building at 542 Forbes Ave. in Pittsburgh between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Due to changes in the Pennsylvania Election Code, petitions issued in Allegheny County in prior years cannot be used by candidates in this year's election cycle, according to a statement from the County Elections Division.
