Moon Looks to Revamp Township Logos, Marketing Materials

Spokeswoman Meghan McNamara said the project was in the exploratory phase.

The  government brand may soon get a facelift.

Township spokeswoman Meghan McNamara said the township was in the early stages of redeveloping its logos and marketing materials in an effort to appeal to developers and prospective residents.

McNamara said township staff would soon submit a request for proposal to the township's Board of Supervisors to receive outside bids for the project.

"This is sort of a trend that is growing among municipalities and communities who are trying to easily sum up and communicate what makes their community a great place to live and work and do business," McNamara said.

She said staff members were researching graphic design and marketing firms for the project: The project could include new logos, a new municipal government website, township color schemes as well as signage for the community.

McNamara said the township would continue to use its official government crest in addition to any new logos created in the project. No timeline or budget is yet available.

"I think that this is a way for Moon Township to share what differentiates it from other communities and tells people why this is a special place to live and visit," she said. "It gives the community a sense of identity."
