Moon Supervisors Discuss Parking Issues, Mooncrest Repairs

The board also approves an agreement for part-time services with the township's former planning director.

The last night discussed continuing problems with neighborhood on-street parking and township renovation projects. 

Those topics included:

  • A presentation from Chief Leo McCarthy about ongoing in the Amherst Acres neighborhood and on Bradley, Springer and Patton Drives. The board is considering ordinances that would limit on-street parking in those areas. 
  • A workshop meeting next month at on economic growth in the Pittsburgh International Airport area. Members of township government will attend.
  • Bid specifications for ongoing renovation projects at the Mooncrest Community Center. The board approved the release of the specifications. Township engineer Malcolm Petroccia also updated the board on sidewalk and roof repairs under way at the building. 
  • A cooperation agreement with the Moon Transportation Authority for part-time services from former township planning director . The board approved the agreement. McGurk left his position with the township last month to relocate with his wife to New York City.
