Moon Officials Rezone Coraopolis Heights Land

A tract of land has been removed from Moon's Carnot Overlay District.

The Moon Township Board of Supervisors earlier this month approved the rezoning of several acres of land along Coraopolis Heights Road, changing the use of land from commercial to residential.

Supervisors removed the 4.6-acre tract of land, owned by the Tarquinio family, from the Carnot Overlay District during a Feb. 6 meeting, converting the zoning back to its original, residential use.

Residents in the area had expressed objection to using the land for a commercial purpose, and had appealed the zoning designation through Commonwealth Court.
