More than 60 Army reservists from the Moon-based McGarity Army Reserve Center left Monday for Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey, where they will prepare for a deployment in Afghanistan this spring.
Soliders from the 303rd Tactical Pyschological Operation Company will provide military information support for Marines in various location in Afghanistan, according to an Army news release.
The reserve center held a "Yellow Ribbon" event for family members prior to the reservists' departure. The deployment will be the first for more than a dozen members of the unit.
Soldiers from the 303rd will take part in tactical and technical exercises at the New Jersey base.
