Police Charge Sewickley Man with Theft from Vehicles

 said a Sewickley man admitted to entering several unlocked vehicles earlier this month in the township. 

Craig Anthony Moore, 27, was charged with four counts of theft from a motor vehicle and four counts of nighttime loitering or prowling in connection with the Feb. 8 thefts. 

Moore, who was also charged by Ohio Township Police with stealing a vehicle, admitted to police on Feb. 10 that he entered at least 10 vehicles near Scottsdale Drive and Spring Run Road Extension.

Police have recovered several items in his home that residents had reported stolen, including GPS devices, DVDs and tools. 

Moore told police that he stole a car in Ohio Township on Feb. 8 after getting into an argument with his girlfriend. He said he drove the car to Moon Township, where he walked around a residential plan, taking items from unlocked vehicles.

Police said Moore was previously employed by a Moon Township landscaping company and he "had knowledge of the Moon Township area." 

Authorities in Ohio Township have charged him with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, access device fraud, giving false identification to law enforcement, and theft from a motor vehicle, according to court records. 

Moore is scheduled to appear Feb. 21 in Coraopolis District Court for a preliminary hearing. 

Township police also responded to the following recent incidents in the township. Each incident reflects police records and is not an indication of guilt: 

  • Robert Jack Stevens, 54, of McKees Rocks, was charged with three counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine, and failure to obey traffic controls at 2 a.m. Feb. 10 on University Boulevard. 
  • Stephanie Marie Kady, 20, of McKees Rocks, was charged with retail theft and criminal conspiracy at 5 p.m. Feb. 8 at Market Place Boulevard. 
  • Shelby Ann Duratz, 20, of Pittsburgh, was charged with retail theft and criminal conspiracy at 5 p.m. Feb. 8 at Market Place Boulevard. 
  • Sarah Kay Aguilera-Orozco, 24, of Moon, was charged with simple assault and harassment at 1 a.m. Feb. 9. The location of the arrest was not available.
