Moon Police: Man Strikes Girlfriend with Car Near Beaver Grade Road

 have charged a Bentleville, PA man with his girlfriend with his car April 13 on Corporate Center Drive. 

David Ruev, 40, is accused of speeding off the roadway near the 100 block of Corporate Center Drive to hit his 25-year-old girlfriend with his vehicle. Police said the two had been out on a date prior to the incident. 

The woman Kristin Clyde, of Natrona Heights, PA, was flown to UMPC Mercy Hospital following the crash, where she was treated for a concussion, bruising on her legs and a laceration to the back of her head, requiring staples, according to police. She was released from the hospital on Sunday.

Police said Ruev, who remained at the crash until police arrived, showed signs of intoxication.  

Moon Police Chief Leo McCarthy said in a statement that Clyde and Ruev have given conflicting statements about the crash to police.  

"Physical evidence at the scene as well as an independent witness statement causes us to believe that [Ruev] was burning rubber in the parking lot with his vehicle, drove at a high rate of speed, traveled off of the paved surface and struck [Clyde]," McCarthy said. 

Ruev is charged with felony aggravated assault by a vehicle, aggravated assault by a vehicle while driving under the influence, driving under the influence of a controlled substance and reckless driving. 

He is scheduled to appear June 5 for a preliminary hearing in Coraopolis District Court.
