41-year-old David Ruev appeared Nov. 7 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

A Washington County man pleaded guilty to striking his then-girlfriend with his car on Corporate Center Drive in Moon Township.

David Ruev, 41, of Monongahela, PA, was sentenced Wednesday to two years probation in connection to the incident.

He pleaded guilty to charges of recklessly endangering another person, careless driving, and driving under the influence of a controlled substance, said Mike Manko, spokesman for Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala.

A charge of aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence was withdrawn, according to court records.

Moon Township Police said Ruev sped off the roadway on April 13 near the 100 block of Corporate Center Drive and hit his 25-year-old girlfriend with his vehicle. Police said the two had been out together prior to the incident.

The woman was flown to UMPC Mercy Hospital following the crash, where she was treated for a concussion, bruising on her legs and a laceration to the back of her head, requiring staples. She was released from the hospital two days later.

Police said Ruev, who remained at the crash until police arrived, showed signs of intoxication.
