Lobby Damage Reported After Fire at Moon Township Holiday Inn

Firefighters in Moon respond to a minor blaze at the Pittsburgh Airport Holiday Inn on University Boulevard.

Construction workers at the Pittsburgh Airport Holiday Inn reported a minor blaze at 11:15 a.m. today on the University Boulevard hotel's roof.

Moon Fire Chief John Scott said wood caught fire on a roof over the building's lobby. Construction called 911 after spotting the blaze, which was put out before fire crews arrived. 

Scott said firefighters worked to ventilate the building. The fire caused minor smoke damage in the lobby, he said.

No one was injured in the incident. The 10-story hotel is owned by Robert Morris University and serves as both student housing and guest lodging.
