Alan R. Burns

Alan R. Burns, 45, of Coraopolis, died Jan. 7 in his home surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Sept. 1, 1966, in Sewickley to G. Richard and Darlene Baun Burns of Moon Township, Burns was a warehouse driver and technician for Pyrotechnico Fireworks in New Castle, often traveling the country to set up displays.

He is survived by his wife, Cari Stuckwish Burns, and children Amanda and D.J.

There was a memorial service earlier this month at the in Moon. Arrangements were conducted through Copeland Funeral Home .

John G. Fahrny

John G. Fahrny, Jr., 80, of Neville Island, died Jan. 5 at Center for Compassionate Care. He was born Oct. 10, 1931, in Pittsburgh.

He worked as a construction inspector and nuclear specialist for Duquesne Light. He also served as Command Chief of the Moon-based 911th Airlift Wing, garnering the base’s Hall of Fame Award. He was a member of the Shriners Club and VFW Post 402.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Scott Fahrny of Brookline, and three children and grandchildren.

Services were earlier this month at Copeland Funeral Home in Moon Township and Berkeley Hills Lutheran Church. Flowers are welcome, and donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society.

James A. Stewart

James A. Stewart, 73, of North Fayette, died at home Jan. 9 after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 29, 1938, in Pittsburgh.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carole Crowley Stewart, and four children.

Stewart studied marketing and communications at Washington & Jefferson College and the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for more than a half century for a family printing and public relations business. He was also a veteran of the Marines.

The family requests that there be no public viewing. in Moon will conduct arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
