PennDOT, Pittsburgh Police Announce Weekend Road Closures

Road closures and traffic delays will occur in Beaver County and Pittsburgh this weekend.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that Interstate 376 in Brighton Township, Beaver County will be closed until Monday. 

Road crews will be removing the bridge that carries Tuscarawas Road over the interstate. The road will be reopened by 6 a.m. Monday. 

Motorists are advised to be aware of delays and changing traffic patterns while taking detour routes around the closed portion of the interstate.

Pittsburgh Police also advised motorists that some streets in Downtown Pittsburgh would be closed Saturday for the city's annual St. Patrick's Day parade.

Police will be present in both the South Side and the North Shore to monitor for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

At 8 a.m., Liberty Avenue from 11th to 26th streets will be closed as a part of the parade route.  At 9:30 a.m., Grant Street from 11th Street to First Avenue will be closed, as will the Boulevard of the Allies from Grant Street to Commonwealth Place. 

At 1:30 p.m., Forbes Avenue between Wood and Stanwix streets and Graeme Way and Market Street will be closed for the parade. Police expect all streets to reopen by 2 p.m.
