Five Things You Need to Know This Week

Patch gives you a rundown of what's happening in the Moon area for the week of Nov. 14.

1. Moon Area School Board meets

The will hold its monthly business meeting at 7 p.m. in the high school meeting room, marking the first meeting since last week's municipal election. 

The board is slated to vote on revised employment policies for the superintendent and other administrators as well as to vote on more than $37,000 in change orders.

2. Municipal meetings scheduled

The Moon Township Municipal Authority will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Sky Room.

The township's Environmental Advisory Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Moon Municpal Building.

3. Township comprehensive plan questionnaires distributed

The Moon Township Comprehensive Plan Committee has mailed questionnaires to residents.

Those who live in Moon may submit their views on long-term development in the township by mailing the form to the or clicking here to fill out the form online. 

4. RMU to host 'Marcellus Shale in your neighborhood'

on Saturday will present information for Pittsburgh-area property owners seeking to lease land to natural gas drilling companies.

The discussion, sponsored by the League of Women's Voters of Greater Pittsburgh, will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Patrick Henry Center on the university's Moon campus.
