Five Things You Need to Know This Week

From meetings to a fiesta, Patch gives you a weekly rundown of what's going on in Moon.

1. Summer vacation kicks off for Moon students

Students in the will finish up classes for the school year on Tuesday. Seniors wrapped up the school year at a June 10  

2. School board to hold monthly meeting Tonight

The Moon Area School Board will meet at 7 p.m. in the high school meeting room.

The board is expected to appoint a temporary treasurer and approve nearly $35,000 in change orders related to the renovation of the district's former middle school.

3. Library holds teen fiesta on last day of school 

The will host a fiesta for teens at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Attendees can build their own miniature pinatas and eat tacos on the library's patio. 

The event is free but teens should register by sending an email to librarian Heather Panella at panellah@einetwork.net or calling 412-269-0334. 

4. Township meetings scheduled 

The Moon Township Municipal Authority will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Sky Room at the Check back with Patch Thursday for coverage. 

The township Environmental Advisory Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Moon Municipal Building. 

5. Practices scheduled for student athletes

The school year may be wrapping up, but student athletes are still hard at work. Practices are scheduled this week for football, swimming, gymnastics and youth lacrosse.
