Charged in Sexual Assault of Student, West Allegheny Teacher to Face Trial

A West Allegheny math teacher and wrestling coach is accused of having sex with a female student in the district.

A West Allegheny teacher and wrestling coach charged with having sex with a then-underage student was held for court today following a preliminary hearing. 

William Morosetti, 28, of Coraopolis, appeared today before Magisterial Judge Carla Swearingen in Robinson Township.

Morosetti, a math teacher in the district, is accused of furnishing alcohol to a former female student and having sex with her at least five times at his home and the home of his father in 2012.

The student has since graduated from the school district. Morosetti has been suspended from work. 

West Allegheny administrators contacted police earlier this year after receiving an anonymous letter from a parent in the district, the Post-Gazette reports.

Morosetti is charged with six counts of institutional sexual assault of a minor, according to court records. He was first charged by Allegheny County Police in January. 

A formal arraignment is scheduled for April 25.
