New Dollar Bank Coming to Steubenville Pike

Development is underway at vacant storefronts featured in Robinson-Moon Patch's "Visions for Vacancy."

The empty Krispy Kreme location on Steubenville Pike will re-open as a Dollar Bank branch.

Dollar Bank vice president Sandra Wise said the branch is slated to open on Nov. 19. Renovations are now underway at the site.

Built in 2004, the 3,532 square-foot retail space closed as a donut shop several years ago, alongside neighboring Krispy Kreme chain locations in Collier and Monroeville.

Dollar Bank maintains local offices on  Walsh Road in Crafton and Beaver Street in Sewickley.

In Moon Township, supervisors earlier this month approved a final land development plan for an AutoZone retail store on the site of the former Triva Pub and Beer Store on University Boulevard.

Developers have been in talks to demolish the long-time pub and construct an auto parts store in its place since 2010, the same year Trivia Pub closed its doors.

The company plans to construct a 6,758 retail space on the lot, located next to Moon Plaza. No construction or opening date for the project was immediately available.

Both vacant storefronts were featured earlier this year in Patch's Visions for Vacancy series.
