10-Year-Old Montour Piano Prodigy Performs
Montour elementary student Katie Liu took the piano in March for a performance before the Montour School Board.
Burkett Elementary fourth-grader Katie Liu won first prize in the Duquesne Young Artist National Competition for musicians aged 10 to 12.
Katie, a gifted education student who began playing piano at age 4, performed before members of Montour's administration and school board during the board's March 8 meeting.
The Montour student studies with pianist Natasha Snitkovsky at the City Music Center.
