You Sent It In: 911th Opens New Lodge

Crescent Commissioner Jerry Keller submitted photos from Sunday's ribbon-cutting ceremony at the 911th Airlift Wing.

Officials at the 911th Airlift Wing on Sunday hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to usher in the opening of a new lodge for the base's reservists. 

Rep. Tim Murphy, R-Upper St. Clair, and representatives from the Military Affairs Coalition of Western Pennsylvania were on hand for the opening of the building. 

Col. Craig C. Peters also of the base on Sunday following a change-of-command ceremony. 

The base is slated to close in 2013 as a part of an effort to drastically reduce federal defense spending. Each of the base's 1,100 military and 280 civilian personnel positions will be eliminated in the closure.

I'm having trouble deciphering/accessing complete posts above. I have not been able to follow theRead More Boards meetings since relocating a year ago to TN. The fact that it took them til 3 am to ok WalMart's plans for the space, makes me think it was contentious, as it should have been. Many of us with experience of WalMart and the existing problems with traffic in the area remain appalled to hear WalMart's moving ahead.
