Patch Pet: Meet Tippy

Tippy has three legs and needs to find a special adult-only family.

This beautiful gal is Tippy, a 10-year-old Lab mix who was transferred to Animal Friends from a rural shelter that was out of kennel space.

Tippy's time at that shelter was drawing to an end, but luckily Animal Friends had room for her. Not much is known about her past, except that her situation is unique. Tippy has only three legs; her rear left leg has been removed.

She is learning to walk and balance herself with the help of a strap, which is used to lift her back end up and give her more stability. What an obstacle for a gal to overcome, but she always tries her hardest and when she gets tired she will sit awhile and watch all the activity that goes on around her.

Despited all that she has gone through, Tippy has the sweetest disposition and just wants to be loved. Due to her handicap, Tippy is unable to maneuver steps and will need to find a home where she will have easy access to the outdoors.

Tippy loves to spend time with people and is very gentle and kind. She enjoys taking naps and cuddling and would love a nice bed, a soft blanket and a few chewy toys in her new home.

Tippy will need to find a special adult-only family who can dedicate time to her and help her to gain more mobility.

If you have a caring heart and room in your home for Tippy, contact the Animal Friends adoption desk at 412-847-7002 and arrange to meet her.
