Garden Club Brings 'Greens and Things' to Robin Hill Park

The annual sale remains a crowd-pleaser, organizers said.

It's among the Moon Garden Club's most popular events, said members of the township's gardening and floral organization.

The group hosted its annual Greens and Things show Saturday at Robin Hill Park, decking the park's carriage house with Yuletide-themed arrangements.

Garden club member Susanne Udvari said the group handcrafted more than 160 pieces, using fresh and artificial components for the event. Many of the pieces were bought up in the early hours of the sale, she said.

Udvari said garden club members gather one week before the show to piece together fresh arrangements for the sale. One week after Christmas, they'll scour local stores to get top deals on Christmas items to store away for next year's event.

"This is our main show," Udvari said. "It's by far the most popular."

Proceeds from the sale will benefit the garden club's philanthropic causes, including scholarships. Udvari said the club would organize a Moon garden tour as one of its public events next year.

Those interested in joining the organization, which meets monthly, may contact Udvari at SusanneUdvari@gmail.com.

"I wouldn't say they necessarily need experience," Udvari said. "They just need to enjoy [gardening]."
