Suspect Flees After Uni-Mart Robbery

The incident marks the third armed robbery at the Coraopolis Heights store in the past six months.

A man in his 20s with his shirt pulled over his face and his hand in his pocket, perhaps holding a weapon, robbed Uni-Mart late Wednesday night, marking the second robbery of the convenience store this week.  Moon Police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing. A Uni-Mart employee earlier today confirmed that the store was again robbed, but declined to comment further.  Police said a tall, white male in his 20s wearing a silver T-shirt and white winter hat walked into the Coraopolis Heights Road store at 10:10 p.m. and demanded money from the store's clerk.  The employee said the man, who held his hand in his pocket during the robbery, was holding a weapon. Police did not disclose the amount of money taken from the store.  "Even…

Robber Holds Uni-Mart Clerk at Gunpoint, Flees with Cash

Moon Police say the suspect escaped on foot.

Moon Police said a robber held a Uni-Mart clerk at gunpoint while he took an undisclosed amount of money from the Coraopolis Heights Road store. The incident marks the second armed robbery in the past six months at the convenience store and gas station. A Uni-Mart employee said a man in his early 20s brandishing a gun walked into the store at 2 a.m. May 19 and demanded money from the cash register. Police did not disclose the amount of money taken from the store. The suspect may have fled through a nearby wooded area, police said. No injuries were reported. Update: Armed Robber Holds Up Uni-Mart, Flees With Cash

Store employee says he was not injured in the attack.

Moon Police are continuing their search for the unidentified man with a gun who Thursday robbed the Uni-Mart convenience store on Coraopolis Heights Road.  A witness told police that at 9 p.m. a man wearing a black hoodie held a handgun to the head of a store employee and then fled with cash.  Police said the witness attempted to tackle the suspect, but the man ran away toward Rhema Christian Academy.  No one has been charged in the incident. Police have obtained store surveillance video footage that documents the incident.  Store manager Asghar Rashid said no customers were in the store when the man walked in and pointed a gun at his head, demanding cash from the store's register.  "It all took about 30 seconds," he said.
