Moon Stylist Travels to International Beauty Show

Linda Venneri-Smith said works to bring the most current hair styles and techniques to her Moon Township salon.

Longtime Moon Township hair stylist Linda Venneri-Smith this weekend will rub shoulders with some of the biggest names in the beauty world.  Venneri-Smith is making her annual trek to the Premiere Orlando International Beauty Show . Stylists including Takashi Kitamura and reality TV star Tabitha Coffey will be on hand. The show, featuring stylists from across the country, kicks off today.  She attends the show every year, learning techniques from some of the biggest names in the styling world before bringing them back to Moon Township, where she works at Michael's Hairloft.   "It's all about education," said Venneri-Smith, a Moon Township resident who has been working as a stylist for 27 years. Fitness a Passion for Longtime MCA-TV Host

Linda Francis has taught healthy living to Moon residents for more than two decades.

Never underestimate the power of exercise, said Linda Francis.  The 64-year-old Moon resident has spent more that two decades promoting healthy living to the community via her long-running fitness show on MCA-TV, Senior Workout. "It's really important for [senior citizens] to keep their balance and to build strong muscles, and it wards off dementia and depression," Francis said.  Francis began her show in 1985 after a member of the Moon Board of Supervisors told Francis that her local workout classes might be a good fit for the then-fledgling MCA-TV.  Francis taught fitness courses at Robert Morris University, and her aerobic workouts were decidedly high-impact. Soon, Francis slowed the pace of her routines to better suit the Moon-area …
