Homecoming week has arrived at Robert Morris University. The Colonials will take on the Lafayette Leopards at 6 p.m. Saturday at Joe Walton Stadium. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children and seniors. Game tickets are available at the gate or at RmuColonials.com. Events for current students and alums alike are scheduled for the weekend. Take a look at our list below for some suggestions for your Homecoming celebration. Homecoming happy hour: Scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, Pittsburgh Airport. Fans can now purchase football tickets for the 2012 Robert Morris University football season through the university's ticket office. Tickets can be reserved for each of five Colonial home games at RMU's Joe Walton Stadium for $30. Season ticket holders can sit in a "VIP" seating section located between the stadium's 45 yard lines. Single-game tickets can be purchased at each game for $7. Children younger than age 8, seniors older than 65 and and members of the military with ID can purchase single-game tickets for $3. Tickets are free for all RMU staff, faculty and students. The home season kicks off Sept. 8 against defending Northeast Conference co-champion Albany, according to a university announcement. Robert Morris University football team this weekend will close the home schedule of its 2011 season with a match-up against Wagner College. The university will honor a dozen graduating seniors before kickoff, which is scheduled for noon at Joe Walton Stadium. The group helped RMU earn its 2010 Northeast Conference regular season championship. The team is coming off its fourth-straight loss of the season and has replaced injured quarterback Jeff Sinclair with freshman Matt Layman. The Colonials will finish the season Nov 19 at Duquesne. Thousands of students and alumni converged on Robert Morris University's campus Saturday to mark the Moon university's Homecoming celebration. Tailgaters packed a sold-out Joe Walton Stadium to watch the Colonials take down St. Francis in a 45-14 upset. Attendees played games, grilled food and took in a free performance from The Clarks' frontman Scott Blasey. Alumni met earlier in the day for reunion receptions on campus. The Colonials will take on St. Francis at 7 p.m. Saturday at Joe Walton Stadium. Tailgating before the game begins at 3 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Robert Morris University's football team has been picked to finish third this season in the Northeast Conference by a poll of league head coaches. The team, which is coming off a 2010 overall record of 8-3, received one first-place vote in the conference's preseason coach's poll. The team last year earned the NEC's inaugural bid to the NCAA Football Championship subdivision playoffs after a home victory over Central Connecticut State University. Duquesne was selected to finish second in the NEC in 2010. Central Connecticut State University was picked as first.
