The health care provider will host an informational event today at the Mall at Robinson.
The Heritage Valley Health System will host its regular health fair at the Mall at Robinson from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. During the event, the health care provider will introduce its new da Vinci surgical system—a robotic system that translates a physician's hands into smaller, more precise movements during surgery. The system allows surgeons to perform complex procedures with just a few, tiny incisions, according to an announcement from Heritage Valley. The health fair will include free health screenings and information on Heritage Valley services.

Both primary and diagnostic care are available at the new Steubenville Pike location.
Heritage Valley Health System has opened a Robinson Township "medical neighborhood center" in the Staples building on Route 60. The new location, at 6521 Steubenville Pike, offers primary care services through the Heritage Valley Medical Group, with Dr. Denise Wegrzynowicz, Dr. Linda D'Eramo, according to a statement from Heritage Valley spokesman Dan Murphy. Wegrzynowicz and D'Eramo moved to the new Heritage Valley location from their former offices in Plaza Three on Park Manor Drive, also in Robinson. The new center features a laboratory draw site, diagnostic services, including EKGs, ultrasounds, mammography, x-ray, bone density and mobile open bore MRI and CTs.

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, here's a list of breast cancer support groups in our region.
One in 8 American women and 1 in 1,000 American men will develop breast cancer at some point in their lives. It’s estimated that more than 2 million people are diagnosed with breast cancer and fight for their lives each year. Breast cancer is difficult to face alone—for both patients and their loved ones. To help in the battle, there are a number of local resources and support groups. “Support groups are really beneficial,” says Dr. Debra Somerrs Copit, director of breast imaging at Albert Einstein Medical Center and a member of the medical advisory board for Living Beyond Breast Cancer. “When patients are told they’re sick, it can be an out of body experience and they aren’t taking in everything the doctor is saying. Three people were taken to an area hospital after suffering minor injuries.
Three people were injured just before noon today after a two-vehicle crash on International Drive. One man sustained a minor head injury after his Hyundai Sonata collided with a Honda Civic as the vehicles exited westbound off International Drive onto Interstate 376 West. The man was transported to Heritage Valley Sewickley following the crash. Two women in the Honda were also taken to Heritage Valley after complaining of chest pains. Moon Police Cpl. Ray Gallagher said emergency officials at first thought they would have to extricate a female passenger from the Honda, but instead were able to slide her out of a door. The intersection is now open to motorists.
Moon clinic will provide treatment to patients who may have difficulty with travel due to the closing of the Aliquippa-Ambridge Bridge.
In light of the closing of the Aliquippa-Ambridge Bridge and its impending effect on traffic patterns, Heritage Valley is expanding clinical services in Moon Township and the airport area. A sixth ConvenientCare location at 935 Thorn Run Road in Moon is set to open Thursday to provide treatment to patients with minor illness and injuries.
