Man Charged with Attacking Moon Officer to Appear in Court

A man charged with attacking a Moon Police officer during an August traffic stop faces a preliminary hearing today. Moon Police charged Damien L. Delts, 37, of Aliquippa, on Aug. 31 with aggravated assault, criminal attempt, possession with intent to deliver, resisting arrest, hindering apprehension or prosecution, drug possession, criminal mishcief and driving with a suspended license.  Police said he struck Moon Officer Ian Lucas in the face several times during a traffic stop on Old Thorn Run Road. Delts, who was driving a vehicle registered in New Jersey, was later found to be in possession of crack cocaine, according to police reports.  Delts is scheduled to appear in Coraopolis District Court before Magisterial Judge Mary Murray.  …
