Man Pleads Guilty to Acting as 'Peeping Tom' in Moon

In 2012, a Mercer County man was charged with prowling outside of women's apartment windows in Moon Township.

A Mercer County man arrested last year for lurking outside of apartments in Moon Township to watch women in states of undress will be registered as a sex offender. Brian Williams, 37, of Greenville, pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of invasion of privacy and six counts of loitering and prowling at nighttime, said Michael Manko, spokesman for Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala. Police said in a complaint Williams acted as a peeping tom, targeting young women’s ground-level apartments in the township, and watching them in various states of undress “for the purpose of sexual gratification.” Other charges facing Williams, including stalking and defiant trespass, were withdrawn. Henderson Convicted, Awaits Sentencing in Rapes of Three Women in Hopewell, Ross

Convicted rapist Arthur Lamont Henderson is scheduled to be sentenced March 26 after a jury  found him guilty of raping three women in Ross and Hopewell townships. Jurors deliberated for less than four hours beforereturning a verdict, ending an unusual trial in which Henderson acted as his own attorney and cross-examined his victims as well as the police officers who arrested him, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. During closing arguments in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court, Henderson claimed he was framed while the prosecution said it had proven its case beyond any doubt. Jury Selection Begins in Trial of Man Charged with Raping Women in Hopewell, Ross

Jury selection began Thursday in the trial of Arthur Lamont Henderson, who is charged with raping and robbing women in Ross and Hopewell a year ago. Henderson, 39, of the North Side, has been in the Allegheny County Jail since his arrest Jan. 20, 2012. The charges against Henderson stem from two 2012 attacks on Ross Township women—one reported Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Woodhawk Club Apartments complex on Johnanna Drive and the other Monday, Jan. 9, at the Cascades Apartment complex off Cemetery Lane. In both cases, women in their mid-20s were attacked early in the morning after returning from walking their dogs, police said.  Hopewell Township Police also filed charges against Henderson for a sexual assault that occurred Jan. 7—the same …

Update: Smallis Faces Trial for Drug Possession, Endangering Children

A former Moon Township woman's non-jury trial has been postponed until May.

Update: Smallis' non-jury trial has been rescheduled for May 6.    A woman is slated to go to non-jury trial today on charges she used her children to help her sell drugs from her Moon Township home.  Pamela Smallis, 49, who formerly resided in Moon but now lives in Oakdale, is charged with dozens of counts of drug possession with intent to deliver and endangering the welfare of children, stemming from a series of drug sales monitored by Moon Police in 2011.  In a criminal complaint, police said Smallis met with police informants to sell them marijuana and narcotics on five occasions in 2011. They said she frequently brought her children along with her while she made drug sales.  Smallis arranged for informants to come to her home on …

Former Moon Business Owner Pleads Guilty to Indecent Exposure

A Moon Township man receives a sentence of two years probation after pleading guilty to a charge of indecent exposure.

The owner of a defunct Moon Township landscaping business pleaded guilty to charges of indecent exposure.  Armando Zucchero, 72, of Moon Township, pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent exposure stemming from an August incident on Moon Clinton Road, receiving a sentence of two years probation for the offense, according to court records. A Moon Township woman testifed that Zucchero exposed himself twice to her in his car. Zucchero saw the woman walking home along University Boulevard and offered her a ride, the woman said.  Zucchero is the former owner of Zucchero Landscaping.

Man Pleads Guilty to Striking Woman With Car in Moon

41-year-old David Ruev appeared Nov. 7 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

A Washington County man pleaded guilty to striking his then-girlfriend with his car on Corporate Center Drive in Moon Township. David Ruev, 41, of Monongahela, PA, was sentenced Wednesday to two years probation in connection to the incident.  He pleaded guilty to charges of recklessly endangering another person, careless driving, and driving under the influence of a controlled substance, said Mike Manko, spokesman for Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala.  A charge of aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence was withdrawn, according to court records.  Moon Township Police said Ruev sped off the roadway on April 13 near the 100 block of Corporate Center Drive and hit his 25-year-old girlfriend with his …

Woman Charged in Moon Drug Bust Waives Hearing

Former Moon resident Pamela Smallis appeared Tuesday in Coraopolis District Court.

A former Moon woman who police said used her children to sell drugs from her Stocker Drive home waived her right to a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.  Pamela Smallis, 48, of Oakdale is slated to face a formal arraignment Sept. 13 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. She was scheduled to attend a preliminary hearing Tuesday in Coraopolis District Court.  Smallis is charged with child endangerment, corruption of minors and drug possession after police said she met with informants to sell them drugs and narcotics on five different occassions in 2011.  Authorities said she frequently brought her children along when she made drug sales.  Smallis, who formerly worked for the Children's Palace daycare center in Monaca, on Dec. 16 …

Moon Man Pleads Guilty to Striking Teen with Truck

Clifford Dilley has been sentenced to house arrest, according to a court spokesman.

A Moon Township man has been sentenced to house arrest in connection to an October hit-and-run crash on Moon Clinton Road that seriously injured a teenage girl. Clifford Dilley, 77, pleaded guilty Monday to a charge of felony accidents involving death or personal injury. Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Edward Borkowski sentenced Dilley to 9 to 12 months house arrest and four years probation, said district attorney spokesman Mike Manko.  Moon Police said Dilley struck an unidentified 17-year-old with his truck as she walked home at night along Moon Clinton Road.  The girl and her boyfriend were walking home from McDonalds along Moon Clinton Road on the evening of Oct. 29, police said.  The teen was walking ahead of her boyfriend near …

Man to Stand Trial on Charges of Striking Girlfriend with Car

A Washington County man is accused of striking a woman with his car in Moon Township.

A 40-year-old man will stand trial on charges that he struck his then-girlfriend with a car in the Cherrington Office Park.  Moon Police in April charged David Ruev, of Bentleyville, PA, with speeding off the roadway near the 100 block of Corporate Center Drive and striking his 25-year-old girlfriend with his car. Police said the two had been out on a date at a Moon Township bar with co-workers prior to the incident.  Ruev appeared yesterday in Coraopolis District Court for a preliminary hearing. He is now scheduled to appear July 20 for a formal arraignment in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, according to court records.  The victim, Kristin Clyde, of Natrona Heights, PA, was flown to UMPC Mercy Hospital following the crash, …

Man Pleads Guilty to Moon Carjacking

Joseph Manna was sentenced to 6 to 12 years in prison for assaulting three women in Moon Township in 2011.

A McKees Rocks man pleaded guilty today to aggravated assault and robbery in connection to a 2011 Moon Township carjacking.  Joseph Manna, 29, appeared before Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas Judge Joseph K. Williams, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault, and one count each of burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, theft by unlawful taking and robbery of a motor vehicle.  Manna also pleaded guilty to two counts of recklessly endangering another person, said court spokesman Michael Manko.  Manna was sentenced to six to 12 years in prison.  Stowe Police said at 5 a.m. Jan. 15, 2011, Manna broke into a Broadway Avenue apartment in Stowe Township, stabbed two residents of the home and stole a black Ford F-150 truck, …
