Hearing Postponed for Coraopolis Man Charged with Sexually Assaulting Minor

A local teacher is suspended from the classroom on charges he had a sexual relationship with a student.

A preliminary hearing for a West Allegheny teacher charged with having sex with a student has again been continued.  William Morosetti, 28, of Coraopolis, was suspended from work in the district in January after Allegheny County Police charged him with six counts of institutional sexual assault of a minor, sexual assault of a minor and furnishing alcohol to minors.  A preliminary hearing before Magisterial Judge Carla Swearingen-Batch scheduled for Feb. 12 has been postponed until March 8, according to court records.  Police have charged the high school math teacher with having sex with an underage girl more than a dozen times at his Grace Manor Drive home in 2012, according to reports. The girl is no longer a student in the district.  …

Coraopolis Man, West Allegheny Coach Charged with Sexually Assaulting Minor

The coach has been suspended from the nearby district, according to reports.

Update: A Coraopolis man and wresting coach for West Allegheny High School has been charged by Allegheny County Police with sexual assault of a minor.  William James Morosetti, 28, was charged Wednesday with six counts of institutional sexual assault of a minor, according to court records. He faces a preliminary hearing Jan. 29 in Robinson.  Morosetti is also charged with furnishing alcohol to minors. The charges stem from an April 2012 incident.  The Post-Gazette reports that Morosetti, who also works as a math teacher at West Allegheny, has been suspended from work in the district. The incident did not involve a current West Allegheny student.  Morosetti is accused of having sex with a girl more than a dozen times at his residence, …

West Allegheny Teen Suffering Rare Sleep Syndrome to Appear on 'Jeff Probst Show'

A local teenager suffers from a rare and debilitating disease that causes her to fall into long periods of deep sleep and lethargy.

Vicki Delien recalls one holiday season when her daughter Nicole, now 17, missed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve. The West Allegheny student, who suffers from the rare neurological disorder Kleine-Levin Syndrome, slept through the holidays, awaking one day in January when she finally opened Christmas gifts alongside her family.  Delien said her family continues to grapple with her daughter's debilitating condition, sometimes called "Sleeping Beauty Syndrome," which causes Nicole to periodically fall asleep for days or weeks at a time.  "She's never really adjusted to it," Delien said. Montour Takes on West Allegheny in WPIAL Quarterfinal

The game takes place Friday at Chartiers Valley.

Montour will take on its Parkway Conference co-champ West Allegheny Friday in the quarterfinal round of the WPIAL playoffs.  The rivals play at 7 p.m. Friday at Chartiers Valley. West Allegheny comes to the game following a 48-7 victory over Ringgold, while Montour is coming off a 27-6 win over Trinity. Tickets for Friday's match-up are $4 for students and $6 for adults. No student tickets will be sold at the gate, according to a statement from the district.  Fans can purchase tickets from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Montour High School athletic office and today during normal hours at David E. Game Day Gallery: Moon Youth Football Takes on West Allegheny

At a cold and soggy Tiger Stadium, young football players and cheerleaders play the final home game of the season.

Moon Tigers youth football took on West Allegheny Sunday in the final regular-season match-up at Tiger Stadium.  Players and cheerleaders for the twerps, termites, mitey-mites, midget and senior level teams braved the rain and cool temperatures during the all-day event. The senior team defeated West Allegheny in a 38-6 upset.  Check out photos of the midget-level team above.
