Milanovich: Speeding Through High School Campus a 'Major Concern'

The Moon Area School District Superintendent urges motorists and visitors to obey district school safety policies.

Superintendent Donna Milanovich said motorists who park in fire lanes and speed through the Moon Area School District's campus continue to be a "major concern" to school officials.  Milanovich, who in January issued a letter to parents concerning district safety, urged drivers to not pull over in non-parking lanes near district buildings.  She said traffic congestion at the district's high school and middle school campus poses a safety hazard.  "They're considered emergency parking lanes, and emergency vehicles could never get through (if vehicles are parked in those lanes)," Milanovich said. "We have to use the parking lots that are available." The number of parking spaces available will increase at the beginning of the 2013-2014 school …

Too true, and again the bigger problem is the exorbitant amount of tax payer dollars that went into the construction of the "state of the art" facility and its planning and execution that we now know has major parking flaw! TY, Moon School Board!!   more ›
