Moon School Year Extends into June
Classes will wrap up on June 10, but snow days could pose a problem
Moon Area Schools Superintendent Donna Milanovich conceded that fitting 13 schools days into the remainder of the district's academic year will be a tight squeeze. The Moon Area School Board last week approved her revisions to the district calendar, pushing back high school graduation to June 10 and maintaining Christmas break. Students will have no weekdays off in February and March, and spring break has been reduced to one day -- April 22. The changes were necessary because the district closed for 13 days in November during a teacher's strike.
