The Moon Area School District has hired Brian Campbell as acting technology director for the district. Campbell's hiring is effective April 8. He replaces former director Christopher Hatty. The school's technology department has been outsourced to the firm Questeq, a technology outsourcing provider for schools, since 2009. The district announced Campbell's hiring on Wednesday. Campbell most recently served as the as the technology director for the Woodland Hills School District in Pittsburgh and as the tech coordinator for the Richmond Heights School District in Ohio, according to the district.

Robinson Township officials said a replacement for its outgoing manager will soon be hired.
The Robinson Board of Commissioners approved the hiring of the Oakmont-based Bruce E. Dice & Associates as the township's new soliciting firm. The measure was passed in a 5-to-0 vote Monday. In January, commissioners fired longtime Robinson solicitor Goldberg, Kamin & Garvin, after officials took issue with its handling of litigation related to township development projects. Attorney John Butya had acted as interim solicitor. Dice represents communities including Monroeville and Plum. Outgoing township manager Aaron Bibro, who will resign from his post in April, said a replacement is expected to be hired for the position in April. Bishop Canevin has hired Darren Schoppe, a 1991 graduate at the Catholic school, as its new varsity football coach.
Bishop Canevin High School has hired a new varsity football coach. Darren Schoppe, of Coraopolis, is a 1991 graduate and was an assistant coach at Bishop Canevin from 1993 to 2005. He is also a former defensive coordinator at South Fayette and also was an assistant coach for Peters Township. “It was important for us to find a coach who would be passionate about Crusader football and about developing our young men as individuals, student, and athletes and I feel that Coach Schoppe is that person,” Principal Karen Walker said in a press release. “We all look forward to continued great success for our team both on and off the field under his leadership." The dean joins the university this spring semester.
Robert Morris University has hired a new dean for its School of Business. John Beehler, who joined the university in January, formerly served as the founding provost and vice president at the University of North Texas at Dallas, an institution launched in 2000. Prior to serving as a founding leader of the university, he worked as the dean of the Haile/U.S. Bank College of Business in at Northern Kentucky University and as dean of the Barton School of Business at Wichita State University. Beehler is a Pennsylvania native who graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in accounting, according to an RMU announcement. Read more on Beehler on RMU's website.

A former Montour volleyball coach will lead Moon Area's program.
The Moon Area School District has hired former Montour coach Samuel Woods to lead its boys and girls volleyball program. Woods served as an assistant coach for the Montour School District for eight years, overseeing both the boys and girls teams, said high school Prinicipal Barry Balaski. Woods' hire was approved unanimously during by Moon Area School Board members. "Thank you all for the opportunity," Woods said when addressing the board. "I'm very excited and I'm going to make the most of this."

Former middle school band director Jeffrey Jaworowski has been hired for the position.
The Moon Area School District has hired band director Jeffrey Jaworowski as assistant principal for its middle school. Jaworowski has served as band director at the middle school since 1993, said district spokeswoman Megan Edwards in a statement. He is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in music education and has completed coursework at San Francisco State University and Duquesne University. The township appoints former assistant director Lance Welliver as interim director of the parks
The Moon Township Board of Supervisors has appointed the assistant director of Moon Parks to head the department on an interim basis. Lance Welliver, who has worked in the Moon Township Parks and Recreation Department since 2009, will replace outgoing parks director Dana Kasler until a permanent hire is made. Supervisors approved Welliver's new appointment during their Oct. 29 meeting. His annual salary is $61,302.82. No permanent replacement for Kasler has yet been named, said township spokeswoman Alexis Sergeant. Kasler, who has been employed with the township since 2000, accepted a position in Lee County, Florida. His final day of work in the township is Nov. 7, Sergeant said.

The former RMU goaltender will now serve as a coach for her alma mater.
Robert Morris University’s women’s hockey team has tapped former Olympian Brianne McLaughlin as assistant coach. McLaughlin, who is an alumna of RMU, competed on the United States 2010 winter Olympics women’s hockey team in Vancouver, earning a silver medal and becoming the first former Colonial to compete in the games. She worked as a volunteer assistant coach for the Colonials during the 2011-2012 season, according to a university statement. McLaughlin, 25, has also competed in two International Ice Hockey Federation world championships. The former goaltender graduated from the Moon university in 2011 with a degree in nursing.
