UPDATE: Watch Upgraded to Winter Storm Warning: More Snow Predicted for Moon, Robinson Area

The snow is expected start Sunday evening.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the entire Pittsburgh region, including the Moon and Robinson areas, beginning 11 p.m. Sunday through 11 a.m. Monday. Forecasters say the snow will be most intense from midnight Sunday through the pre-dawn hours of Monday, accumulating 4-7 inches before ending by Monday afternoon. A Winter Storm Warning means that heavy snow will make tavel dangerous. If you must venture out at all, use extreme caution. Here's a more detailed look at the forecast:

A period of snow and freezing rain is expected overnight Sunday, before changing to all rain by Monday afternoon. Advisory Upgraded to Winter Storm Warning: Forecasters Increase Snow Predictions

The storm is expected to begin as a mixture of rain and snow before turning to all snow overnight.

The National Weather Service in Moon Township has issued a winter storm warning for the Pittsburgh region, including Robinson, Moon and the surrounding area , from 6 p.m. Tuesday until 5 p.m. Wednesday. Forecasters say snow will accumulate 5 to 8 inches before the storm ends Wednesday afternoon. The period of most intense snow will be between midnight Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday. A storm warning means that snowfall will make travel dangerous, according to the weather service, and drivers are urged to use extreme caution if they must go out. National Weather Service Warns of Freezing Rain, Icy Roads Through Friday

Winter weather advisory will be in effect all day in Moon and Robinson.

Expect freezing rain and ice accumulations of about a 10th of an inch Friday. That's the word from the National Weather Service in Moon, which issued a winter weather advisory that will be in effect from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. The freezing rain is expected to begin between 5 and 7 a.m. and end between 3 and 6 p.m. The National Weather Service warns of hazardous travel conditions because of ice-covered roads. Winds of 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph are also forecast. A winter weather advisory means freezing rain will cause travel difficulties.

Weather Service Issues Advisory: Expect Lots of Snow This Weekend

National Weather Service forecasts hazardous travel conditions.

Two Clipper-type systems will mean lots of snow to Western Pennsylvania this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Moon Township.  A winter weather advisory for snow is in effect from 10 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday. The weather service forecasts snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches; those totals could go as high as 6 to 10 inches in the higher ridge elevations. The snow will begin mid-morning Saturday and end Sunday evening, with the heaviest snow coming Saturday afternoon into midday Sunday, NWS states on its website. National Weather Service Issues Severe Thunderstorm Watch

The watch area includes Allegheny, Butler and Beaver counties.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 4 p.m. Wednesday as a flood advisory for the Ohio River continues, according to the National Weather Service in Moon Township.  The thunderstorm watch area includes Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Washington and Westmoreland counties. A watch is issued when conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. A severe thunderstorm by definition is a thunderstorm that produces one inch hail or larger in diameter and/or winds equal or exceed 58 miles an hour.  A flood advisory also is in effect for the Ohio River at Pittsburgh. Wacky Weather: Temps in the High 50s on Tuesday, Wednesday

The National Weather Service forecasts snow showers after the balmy weather.

In the wonderful, wacky world of weather, check this out—the National Weather Service in Moon Township forecasts temperatures will reach highs around 57 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday. This comes on the heels of snow, sleet and freezing rain Monday morning. But don't think spring has sprung yet. The weather service predicts a chance of snow showers for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Here's the forecast: Monday night: Showers likely, mainly before 10 p.m. Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 41. Southwest wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Update: Schools Delayed, Sleet and Freezing Rain on the Way

A winter weather advisory has been issued for the Pittsburgh region.

Update: The Moon Area and Montour school districts will operate under a two-hour delay today.  Robert Morris University will also operate under a delay—classes at the university will begin at 10 a.m. today.  The National Weather service in Moon Township has issued a winter weather advisory from 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday for most of Western Pennsylvania, including the Moon and Robinson area. A mixture of snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected overnight into Monday morning. Because very cold ground and snow pack, roads and sidewalks are expected to be icy. The National Weather Service in Moon Township is forecasting several inches of snow Friday afternoon, and road conditions are deteriorating. Then click on the blue camera icon to see live pictures from traffic cameras.  Map Legend: Due to weather conditions, all after-school events in the Moon Area School District, including tonight's basketball game, have been cancelled.
