A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Southwestern Pennsylvania, including Allegheny County. The watch remains in effect through 10 p.m. Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service, which says some storms cound be severe with damaging winds. The chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected mainly after 5 p.m. and before midnight. A hazardous weather outlook is also in effect this week, with frosty and potentially freezing conditions possible on Friday and Saturday nights and possibly Sunday. Unprotected plants will be damaged.
The Moon and Robinson area, as well as the surrounding region, is under a freeze warning from 1 to 8 a.m. Tuesday. The National Weather Service predicts temperatures may dip into the 20s overnight. Meteorologists warn that unprotected outdoor plants will likely be damaged or killed, so cover the plants and bring potted plants indoors. The temperature is expected to rise throughout the week. The high on Wednesday will be around 80 degrees.
Temperatures Sunday night through Monday morning are expected to dip below freezing.

The weekend forecast looks much warmer in the Moon and Robinson area.
Warmer temperatures are on the way after Pittsburgh experienced a record low temperature Thursday morning. The National Weather Service in Moon Township recorded an unofficial low temperature of 19 degrees at Pittsburgh International Airport at 6 a.m., which broke the record low of 20 degrees in 1954, according to the Post-Gazette. The high temperature is in the 50s, with the mercury hitting the 60s on Sunday. A winter storm warning has been cancelled.
Locals woke up to a late blast of spring snow this morning. Fortunately, the most intense snow accumulations—about 3 to 5 inches total—are expected this morning, before diminishing. The National Weather Service in Moon Township has cancelled a winter storm warning, but a winter weather advisory remains in effect until 2 p.m. for southwestern Pennsylvania, including Allegheny, Beaver and Butler counties.
