New Boilers Coming to Brooks Elementary
The Moon Area School District will begin soliciting bids for a new boiler system.
The Moon Area School Board approved change orders for its middle school renovation project at an increased cost of $36,831.56. The district also moved to begin soliciting bids for a boiler replacement at its Brooks Elementary building. In addition, the board approved an inspection from the firm Essential Energy Solutions at a cost of $2,050, which will provide the district with suggestions for reducing its energy consumption. The board accepted a proposal from the firm Stewman Demographics, which will perform a study of pupil enrollment projections for the district. Only one board member, Mr.Testa, had the courage to stand up and vote against wasting taxpayer money on more studies. He also pointed out that the motions to approve spending $60,000 of taxpayer money weren't on the agenda posted to the public prior to the meeting, but were added secretly by the board majority right before the meeting started.
