Severe Thunderstorm Possible Wednesday Afternoon in Moon, Robinson Area

The primary threat would be from damaging wind gusts.

There is a small chance that thunderstorms may become severe Wednesday afternoon in the Moon and Robinson area, according to a hazardous outlook issued by the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh. "The primary threat would be from damaging wind gusts, but large hail is also possible," the statement says. RMU Raising Funds to Help Students in Need

The seven-day fundraising drive needs 300 donations by midnight April 30.

Robert Morris University has launched a fundraising initiative that seeks to raise 300 donations in seven days. RMU 300 could unlock $50,000 in donations to help needy students at the university if 300 donations are made before midnight April 30.  Funds support the Student Emergency Fund, which has been used over the years to help students purchase textbooks, pay for car repairs and new clothes for a job interview, and even to cover student travel expenses to visit sick loved ones.  The minimum donation is $10. As of Thursday night, 119 donors had given nearly $3,000.

Take Our Daughters and Sons To Work Day allows employees to bring their own children to work and offer them experiences in their workplace.

The fourth Thursday of April is Take Your Child To Work Day, and lands on April 25 this year. This is the 20th anniversary of Take Our Daughters and Sons To Work Day—as it is officially called. Lyrid Meteor Shower 2013 Peak: When and Where to Watch in Moon and Robinson

Here's the forecast for the best show not on Earth.

The Lyrid meteor shower is already under way, with its peak due on Monday and Tuesday, but here's a tip: Get outside Sunday and look to the skies over the Robinson and Moon area, for what could be your best view of this year's show. The National Weather Service is calling for mostly to partly cloudy skies on Saturday, but Sunday it's supposed to be clear up above, and pre-dawn hours are your best chance at catching the falling stars. According to Accuweather meteorologists, the shower will be visible through April 26, peaking during the pre-dawn hours of Sunday, April 21, and Monday, April 22.
