Families can sign-up their youngster during the annual round-up registration event.
The Moon Area School District will host its annual kindergarten round-up event in March for the 2013-2014 school year. The round-up will take place at Sharon Community Presbyterian Church on Carnot Road. Registration for each neighborhood elementary school will take place on the following days: Bon Meade Elementary: March 19 McCormick Elementary and Bon Meade: March 20 Brooks Elementary: March 21 Allard and Hyde elementaries: March 22 Children's hearing, speech and vision will be assessed at the event. Kindergarten sign-ups take place in February and March.
Children who will turn 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2013 can register to attend kindergarten at the Montour School District. Registration for the 2013-2014 academic year takes place between Feb. 19 and March 8, between the hours of 8:30 to 11 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m. Parents should complete the district's registration packet and turn it into the administration office at 225 Clever Road in Robinson between those dates. The Moon Area School District has scheduled its kindergarten round-up for incoming 2012-2013 students from March 26-30 at Sharon Community Presbyterian Church. Parents at the event can meet kindergarten teachers and staff while registering their children for the upcoming year. Students who have attended private kindergarten or kindergarten at another district may attend the round-up to register for first grade at Moon. The district will evaluate children's hearing, speach and vision with a basic assesment. Certified district personnel will administer the screenings.
