Boys junior high team plays again Thursday.
The Moon Area Middle School boys basketball squad took to the court Monday, sweeping visiting Hopewell Junior High. The seventh-grade boys kicked off the action by building a big lead and holding off a fourth-quarter rally from Hopewell. In the end, the Tigers secured a 36-32 win. The eighth-grade Tigers, meanwhile, led from the start and never looked back, winning by 47-18. Moon enjoyed a 22-6 advantage at the half and led 40-10 by the third quarter. Niko and Aleksei Yarmus each contributed eight points, sharing a game high. The Tigers return to the court on Thursday, traveling to Carlynton Junior High.
