Heartland Homes is now part of NVR Inc. NVR completed the acquisition on the second largest homebuilder in Pittsburgh on Dec. 31. NVR will continue to market under the Heartland Homes name, which is a compliment to NVR's Ryan Homes business. Cranberry will be featured on television at the beginning of March, when the season premiere of "Showhouse Showdown" airs on HGTV. In each episode, two professional interior designers take over two newly built houses with mirror-image floor plans. The designers will compete head-to-head, creating five signature rooms in each house using identical budgets and on the same schedule. Keeping the stakes high and the designers on track will be host Bob Guiney, from ABC’s "The Bachelor." Former Bachelor Bob Guiney will be the host of Showhouse Showdown.
Model homes in new housing plans often come pre-decorated by an expert. That’s nothing new. But in Mystic Ridge, a new neighborhood in Cranberry, competing interior designers will decorate the model homes with the winning look that the public chooses. And it will all be filmed for TV. HGTV and Stone & Co. Entertainment have partnered with Pittsburgh’s Heartland Homes to film part of a new series titled Showhouse Showdown in Cranberry. The show, which is being filmed in cities across the country, pits two experts against each other in competition to design the best model home.
