Several months before its opening, the school is offering a scholarship for its young alums.
A Moon Township branch of the Goddard School for Early Learning is expected to open in June. The school, which will provide pre-school education for children aged six weeks to five years old, will enroll 160 students, according to a representative from the school. Crews are finishing work on the school's 8,500 square-foot facility, located at the cul-de-sac on Commerce Drive. The Moon Township franchise will be owned by Carol Maier. The Moon Township Board of Supervisors last night approved a final major land development plan for the school, which will be located at the cul-de-sac on Commerce Drive. Owner Matthew L. Speranza said the franchise school will enroll 132 students and employ 20 accredited staff members at the Moon location. "Goddard School is an upscale childcare center," said Speranza, who with his wife Dina will own the Moon branch of the school. "We will serve children ages six weeks to five years." Developers said they hope to break ground on the 8,500-square foot building in July. The …

Hi Brian, Just to clarify: Walmart has not made public a timeline or ground-breaking date for the project, nor have they commented on the planned Moon store since 2011. Walmart purchased the property in 2007 and about a year ago, the township settled a lawsuit with the company, which enabled it to move forward with the project: http://moon.patch.com/articles/moon-walmart-construction-back-on-…   more ›
