A look at where the latest group of Moon Area High School graduates are heading after college.
Members of Moon Area High School's class of 2012 will travel as far as Washington, Florida and Ontario to attend college. More than 230 students from the class plan to attend post-secondary education, according to a preliminary list provided by the Moon Area School District. Thirty-four students will attend the Community College of Allegheny County, while 15 are enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh and another 15 at Penn State University's main campus. Students, faculty and family members gathered at Moon Area High School to celebrate commencement.
Moon Area School District's class of 2012 bid farewell to their high school years Friday night in a ceremony that filled the high school's gymnasium. Nearly 300 students graduated following the ceremony. Superintendent Donna Milanovich told the outgoing students she "wished nothing but the best for your futures." "I hope that you will recall your days at Moon with fondness," she said.

Upcoming commencement ceremonies are scheduled for the school districts.
Seniors in Montour High School's class of 2012 will graduate Friday at Robert Morris University Moon. The school district will hold its ceremony at 7 p.m. in the university's Sewall Center arena. Parking will be available on campus. The last day of classes for students in the district is Thursday. Moon Area High School seniors will graduate at 7:30 p.m. June 15 in the district's high school gymnasium. Members of Moon's class of 2012 must attend rehearsal at 9 a.m. June 11 and 8 a.m. June 15 in the gymnasium. Parking for the ceremony will be available at the county Port Authority Park-n-Ride lot on University Boulevard, behind Sheetz. The Moon-based university hosts its annual commencement ceremony.
More than 500 Robert Morris University undergrads will receive their bachelor's degrees Saturday during the university's 87th annual commencement ceremony. The ceremony is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Sewall Center Arena. Saleem Ghubril, executive director of the Pittsburgh Promise, will be featured as the event's keynote speaker. Also speaking at the undergraduate ceremony will be class of 2012 president Besart Stavileci, who also will receive the university's Presidential Transformational Award. Moon Area seniors will continue their athletic careers in college.
Moon Area seniors Dan Dellovade and Mackenzie Reese signed letters of intent earlier this month to continue their athletic careers in college. Dellovade has committed to attend Lafayette College where he will play football. The 6-foot-1 linebacker for the Tigers maintains a 4.1 grade point average and is involved in National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has been named to the First Team All Conference ILB and won the Moon Eckleberry Award for team MVP in 2011. Dellovade was one of Scout.com's top 100 football players in Pennsylvania in 2009 and 2010. Lafayette competes as a Division 1 - Patriot League university, under head football coach Frank Tavani.
