Brentwood Man Pleads Guilty to Moon Township Bank Robbery

A Brentwood man pleaded guilty today in federal court in connection to a 2011 robbery at Giant Eagle in Moon Township.  Christopher Lyons, 32, admitted to robbing to the Citizens Bank location in the supermarket of an undisclosed amount of cash on Nov. 6, 2011.  He is scheduled to face a sentencing on March 25 in U.S. District Court.  During the robbery, Lyons passed a note to a bank teller that read "This is a robbery ... I have a gun," according to court documents.  The teller handed the man a stack of cash that contained an exploding dye pack. Lyons fled with the cash, which exploded in the store's Moon Plaza parking lot before he drove away in a Cadillac Escalade, according to court documents.   Using surveillance footage, …

A Brentwood man suspected of robbing a Moon grocery store barricaded himself in his home Sunday night and slit his own throat before SWAT officers took him into custody. Moon Police said Christopher Lyons, 31, is a suspect in the holdup Sunday afternoon at Giant Eagle on University Boulevard. Police said Lyons walked into the grocery about 12:15 p.m. and presented a note to a teller at the  Citizens Bank in the store. The note said a robbery was under way, police said.
