A Robinson police detective's routine inspection of jewelry exchange sales leads to the arrest of a McKees Rocks man.
A McKees Rocks man has been charged with selling thousands of dollars-worth of stolen jewelry at the Atlantic Gold Exchange on Campbells Run Road. Michael King, 30, of McKees Rocks, was charged yesterday by borough police with receiving stolen property, burglary and drug possession with intent to deliver, according to court records. Robinson Detective Dan Dugan said he became suspicious of King after performing a routine scan of the Robinson shop's sales transactions. Sales records from the store indicated that King sold several high-priced women's jewelry items, including rings, bracelets and chains, Dugan said. A man is stabbed outside a Campbell's Run Road bar.
Robinson officers said a late-night scuffle at a Campbell's Run Road bar ended with a man suffering life-threatening stab wounds. Police said Adam Pastorak, 29, of Collier Township, was found just before 2 a.m. Sept. 1 laying on the floor of Bishop's American Cafe, bleeding heavily from wounds in his right eye and back from an apparent stabbing. When authorities arrived, bar patrons surrounded the injured man, one putting pressure on his back to suppress the bleeding, police described in a report. Ryan Francis, 23, of Scott, has been charged with one count of aggravated assault in connection to the stabbing, according to police records. Is is practical to live in the suburbs without owning a car? Columnist Gab Bonesso has some personal experiences to share!
I spent the better part of 2012 not owning a car. For many suburbanites this idea does not compute. I wish I could tell you the reason for not owning a car was my decision to go green. I wish that it had more to do with a personal philosophy rather than a lack of funds. But alas. I am the embodiment of a freelance artist. You may not agree, but I think being a freelance artist without a car is sometimes arguably more difficult than someone who has a steady job. With a steady job your schedule is concrete. You can make alternate arrangements whether it be by bus, bike, foot or cab.
