Two men from Moon Township are charged in a burglary that took place at a Juniper Drive residence on Aug. 22, 2011. Anthony James Terry, 21, and Alexander Rashad Turner, 23, both of Moon are charged with criminal trespass, burglary, criminal conspiracy and theft by unlawful taking. Additionally, Terry is charged with receiving stolen property. A plasma TV, HDMI cable, laptop computer, smartphone, Tracphone, women's clothing and prescription medication were stolen from the home, according to a police report. Physical evidence from the burglary was sent to the Northern Regional Police AFIS Crime Lab for analysis. Moon Township Police Special Investigations Unit is processing forensic evidence located at the scene of a burglary last week at the H. Snyder Steel Corp. at 100 Montour Rd. According to a news release issued by police Chief Leo McCarthy, at 12:17 a.m. May 9, shock sensors tripped an alarm at the company. When officers arrived at the scene, they found the main gates locked and secured. The owner arrived and unlocked the gate for police. The business is located adjacent to the Montour Trail. An in-house video showed three young white males with backpacks at the scene. One attempted to disable a security camera, while another tried to pry open a window. Police follow leads in Robinson Township that lead to an arrest.
Heidelberg police have filed charges against three people in connection with a burglary in the borough last month. Police said a home in the 200 block of Hogans Way was burglarized on Dec. 11 and various items inside were taken. Police spent the next few weeks investigating, following leads into Pittsburgh, Robinson Township and Houston, PA. They eventually filed charges on Jan. 25 against James Comley, 29, of Heidelberg, Benjamin Jury, 29, of Houston, and David Barton, 26, of Scott Township. The charges include conspiracy, burglary, theft receiving stolen property and possession instruments of crime, among other allegations, police said. Like Robinson-Moon Patch on Facebook.

A 26-year-old Pittsburgh man charged with burglarizing a McCandless home and stealing jewelry worth thousands of dollars waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday before Magisterial District Judge William K. Wagner. Brian James Flesher is charged with felony counts of burglary and theft for the Nov. 26 burglary at a Perrymont Road home. The residents returned home that afternoon to find their rear kitchen door kicked open, according to the criminal complaint. A Monroeville man who Moon Police charged with burglary said he was "looking for a friend" when he stumbled into a woman's apartment at 3:30 a.m. one morning. Police said 20-year-old Joseph Douglas Stoberski walked into a woman's Kris Drive apartment in the early morning of Dec. 22, startling the apartment's residents and prompting the woman's boyfriend to tackle Stoberski in the apartment. Stoberski is also charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and underage drinking in connection to the incident. A Pittsburgh man who police said burglarized a home on Shafer Road waived his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday in Coraopolis District Court. Brian Flesher, 26, is charged with burglary, criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property after police said he kicked down a door on Shafer Road and stole a jewelry box. The home's owner and her teenage daughter arrived home on Dec. 5 to find Flesher's vehicle parked in their driveway. The teen snapped a photo of the car's license plate, which police used to track him down near his Brighton Heights home. The man fled from Shafer Road following the burglary. A Pittsburgh man has been charged in connection to a Shafer Road burglary.
A Moon Township teenager helped authorities nab a burglary suspect after she snapped a photo of the man's car, police said. Police Chief Leo McCarthy said a woman and her teenage daughter arrived home at about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday and discovered a strange car parked in their Shafer Road driveway. The teen took a photo of the car's license plate. The women said a man then ran from inside the home, carrying a wooden jewelry box, and drove off in the car, McCarthy said. McCarthy said 45 minutes later the burglary suspect, 26-year-old Brian James Flesher, was in police custody. Moon Township Police have charged a former employee of the shop with breaking in to steal scratch-off lottery tickets.
A former employee of the Smoke Stack on University Boulevard broke into the shop repeatedly to steal more than a $1,000 in lottery tickets, police said. Moon Township Police arrested 23-year-old Raymond Forrester, of Oakdale, early Wednesday morning as he was pulling out of the store's parking lot of Carnot Road in a white pick-up truck. Police Chief Leo McCarthy said Forrester left his job at the tobacco products store a month ago, but has since used a security code to access the store 15 times, stealing dozens of lottery tickets valued at $1,100. A former maintenance man is accused of entering apartments in Moon Township to steal prescription medications.
An elderly Moon Township woman said she became suspicious after dozens of her prescribed Vicodin pills seemingly disappeared from the bottle in her Waterford Landing apartment. The woman, who said she infrequently takes the medication, had a prescription for 100 pills filled by pharmacists on Aug. 13. By Aug. 29, just 31 pills were left in the bottle, she said. The woman hesitated to report the missing medication because "you reach a point where people might say it's your age," according to her testimony in Coraopolis District Court. A Moon Township man charged with burglarizing a Harvest Court home and driving off in his father's car has waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Michael Williams, 24, appeared yesterday in Coraopolis District Court on charges he broke into a neighbor's home and car on Harvest Court. Police obtained a warrant for Williams' arrest after he went missing for several days earlier in September, driving off without permission in his father's 2004 Chevrolet Impala.
