An Army reservist from Moon Township's 316th Sustainment Command was charged with possessing drug paraphernalia after a struggle with his unit commander on University Boulevard. Sgt. Louis DiSanti, 26, of Erie, was found in possession of multiple syringes and a spoon on Nov. 15 at the Hampton Inn on University Boulevard, police said. When police arrived to the hotel parking lot, a commander from the 316th was restraining DiSanti, holding him to the ground in a "bear hug" after the man attempted to flee, Moon Police Officer James Kazmierczak said in a complaint. Robinson Police said a McKees Rocks man transported heroin while his 6-year-old child rode along in the backseat of his car. Police charged Bernard Morgan Jr., 32, with heroin possession on Oct. 9 after he was pulled over on the Interstate 79 south-bound ramp in the township. Morgan's 6-year-old child was found sitting unrestrained in the car during the stop, according to police Police, who said Morgan's McKees Rocks Road home was under surveilance amid reports he was selling heroin, found him carrying three stamp bags of the drug in his car. A Pittsburgh man is charged with burglary after police said he kicked down an apartment door in the Polo Club apartment complex and used a potato peeler to steal a dog. Moon Police said 24-year-old Garrett Andrew Stauber broke into an apartment at 3 a.m. July 27 on Bridle Trail, grabbed a kitchen knife and potato peeler from the home's dishwasher and fled with the resident's small, white dog, according to a police report. It was unclear if Stauber knew the resident of the apartment. Police said he engaged in a fist fight with a man outside of the apartment building following the burglary. Police said a Moon Township man broke into a vacant University Boulevard hotel to steal copper piping from abandoned rooms. Kelly James Carter, 46, has been charged with criminal trespass, criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property in connection to the incident, according to a police report. Police said Carter in February broke into the hotel, which is being torn down by the Pittsburgh-based Ross Development, and used a saw to strip empty rooms of copper piping. Water was still running in the rooms at the time of the theft, causing water to flow out of rooms and damage carpeting and walls as a result of the plumbing theft. Police did not disclose the value of the theft or water damage done in the rooms. …
