The Brodhead Road convenience store has closed its doors.

  Vacant buildings and unused storefronts are eyesores, but an empty storefront can also be an opportunity. You don't need to be a commercial developer or city planner—or have money to invest in a business project—to have the next great idea. The 7-Eleven convenience store at 998 Brodhead Road closed its doors at the end of March.  Now we want to know: What business would benefit the Moon-area community? UPDATE: Masked Man Escapes after Holding up 7-Eleven

Moon Township Police are investigating the holdup reported shortly after 2:30 p.m.

This article was updated at 5:50 p.m. Staff members and children at Arena's Performing Arts Centre, Kindercare and the West Hills Rehabilitational Center were on lock down earlier today while police searched for an armed robbery suspect along Brodhead Road.  Employees of 7-Eleven on Brodhead told police just after 2:30 p.m. today that a white, masked male robbed the convenience store at gunpoint.  Witnesses said the man fled through a wooded area behind the store after committing the holdup. Moon Police Chief Leo McCarthy said in a statement that the robber has not yet been found.  Officers from Moon, Coraopolis, Crescent, Robert Morris University and Allegheny County searched the area for much of the afternoon, using a Findlay Police …

Monday is Free Slurpee Day at 7-Eleven

A hot weather treat in honor of 7-11-2011.

Looking for a cold drink on a hot day? Here's your chance to get a free Slurpee. Monday is national free Slurpee day at 7-Elevens around the country in celebration of the gas station and convenience chain's birthday.  Luckily for thirsty Moon residents, you won't have to go far to get your cool treat: There's a township location on Brodhead Road providing the free drink in a special 7.11-ounce cup.  A total of 5 million drinks are expected to be given away in all, according to 7-Eleven.
